Intent

At Langmoor, we offer a curriculum that inspires curiosity and deepens pupil’s understanding of different cultures. The teaching should inspire and excite our pupils to continue studying languages beyond key stage 2. It ensures that the four key language learning skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing will be taught and all necessary grammar will be covered in an age-appropriate way across Key Stage 2.

Impact

In order to support our feeder Secondary Schools, we offer Spanish. By following Language Angels we are able to make sure that the curriculum is progressive through Early language Skills, Intermediate and Progressive skills. Our curriculum map will differ slightly in 2025-2026 as more Intermediate and Progressive skills are taught. 

Implementation

As a school, we follow the Language Angels programme of study for Ks2. These programmes of study allow children to progressively develop their skills in foreign languages in regularly taught lessons, which will be taught by their class teacher.
